Clothing made to be worn in no. 1, Whittaker’s Cottages.  Whittaker’s Cottages are a pair of brick and timber cottages, originally from Ashtead, Surrey, built in the 1860s.  No. 1 Whittaker’s Cottages is presented as it might have been around 1890.

The woman is wearing a blouse made from a cheap block-printed cotton, a skirt made of medium-weight dark wool fabric, a pinafore with two large front pockets & a knitted shawl, which wraps around the body and ties at the back.
